The Terrible Two’s…. really?

Wow… Really? That’s all that keeps running in my head. I can’t believe that my little girl is two. Apologies again for the lateness of the post. I’ve been away on an extended stint in lovely T-dot for work so I haven’t had time to blab about Reagan’s Birthday. Coleen’s been super busy minding Reagan on her own while working on all the finishing details of the new house and preparing for two weddings and a cake just around the corner. But really, when you get right down to it, we’re just bad parents 🙁 Sorry Peanut.

On her actual birthday, we went to her favourite place in the whole wide world…. again. Yes, we made a trip to the Aquarium. (I’m actually very pleased that she’s taken such an interest in aquatic life. I’m looking forward to the day that she’s finally old enough to throw on a drysuit and take the plunge with daddy to 100ft below sea level off our beautiful Pacific Northwest Coast.) But that was just the family’s day. Her party was the following Saturday, and it was off to the Gym.

Anyone who’s reading this, already knows about Coleen’s LOVE of dance, so it’s no surprise that Reagan loves it too. She’s in ballet class once a week but it seems that she’s been leaning less towards the form and structure that ballet instills and more towards the free form craziness of just jumping and throwing her body around until she either passes out from exhaustion or she picks up yet another owie somewhere. Guess she’s gonna follow in mommy’s footsteps into the world of hip hop… sigh. With that in mind, mommy decided that we would be hosting a gymnastics party for her birthday. Reagan attended one at a friend’s birthday recently and she went absolutely mental. This wasn’t my first kid’s party, but it was my first kid’s gymnastics party, and let me tell you, there was no way that I could have anticipated the sheer volume of… well…. volume. My ears are still ringing from all the shrieks and screaming. Needless to say, I think the kiddie’s had a bucket load of fun, and the parents were polite enough to not hate us too much for running their kids around at 130% for two hours and then stuffing them full of sugary goodness immediately afterwards. Thanks again to the awesome coaches at Phoenix Gymnastics and to all those who made it out to share in a super crazy day with Reagan. We hope you had a blast ’cause I know we did.
