best place for skate sharpening

Where do you guys get your skates sharpened? What place does the best work in your experience?
Also what cut do you use and why?

I am also curious about profiling, have you had your skates profiled, what length and why?

personally, i'm not too picky about skate sharpenings. I tried the flat bottom v and i could barely tell much difference. I think at our level of skill, as long as the guy who's doing your skates isn't some highschool punk getting paid $8.50/hr, you're ok.

I usually go to cyclones because they do tons of sharpenings. I know the flat bottom v's available at some sportcheks, but i think it's slightly pricier to get that done. But like i said, personally, i don't think i'd be able to tell the difference if you gave me 2 pairs of skates sharpened with different methods. As long as you get the proper cut for your skating style and weight, you should be fine. I usually get the standard cut. I've tried the super deep cut but bites too hard and i tend to pk when i try to stop.

And i've never profiled my skates before. lemme know how you find it if you do yours
i really should be working

i've been trying to use 5/8 most recently to get a feel for that... right now i am not sure if i find that it's not enough bite or just the first sharpening wasnt good as my right skate seems like it doesn't grip so well.

i've never tried different profiles or pitch/tilts, but seeing as i need to play likely both d and forward this season, i'll probably stick to a neutral lean. haven't really though about whether i should try a short profile or not. i think my skates are current a pretty long profile.
