indeed. i watched bits of sid's interview. i am curious as to what people think about his comments on taking headshots out completely? are you guys for against and why?

i think taking headshots outta the game is a good idea... hit clean or dont hit at all... if you "accidentally" hit someone's head, it's a 2 min penalty just like an accidental high stick... in many ways, a shoulder to the head can do more damage than a stick... if the nfl can have a zero tolerance for helmet to helmet hits, then why not nhl for headshots in general? especially since skating is faster than running...

also, i wonder if oz will try to trade to get a star centre to offset sid's mushy brain... or will he hope that skinner and plekanec can hold down the fort until sid comes back? too bad he traded roy away to jai

i guess the other side of the coin is, if people purposely skate with their heads down... how do you make contact from front to front without hitting their head first... body to head... is that still a head shot?

that's true, it'd have to be very clearly defined. But then again, imo, a lot of the head shot issues we see these days aren't due to having your head down, it's more like someone taking a "blind side" liberty on someone...
