The trailer looks promising. The book was awesome. I highly recommend reading it, but it's up to you if you want to read it before or after watching the movie. Probably after though because movies are always a huge disappointment after reading the book.

Holy Crap, I never knew that they were making this into a movie!!! I read this like 2 decades ago. I wonder what drove interest back into it.

I think the book is still selling quite well. My guess is because of e-books, a lot of old books that get digitalized get a resurgence of sales. It's always on the topseller list in the Kindle store sci-fi section when I shop around.

yeah, with ebooks, people who stopped reading because going to the library was too much trouble have started reading again. look at winnie, she reads at least a book a week now. a year ago ryan was reminding HER how to read lol.

The Golden Compass books were good too, but the first movie sucked... they never made any more of them.
