Looking for a new super awesome...

The old Fallout games were awesome turn based games... although Fallout 3 was fun in its own right, it lost its turn based feel to it.

I don't think they make any turn based games anymore. People don't have the attention span for them anymore and want to always look at constantly moving images. The only type of games I can think of that even come close are the Final Fantasy games.

The Civilization games are pretty good turn based games, but somehow I don't think that's what you're looking for.

there is another xcom slated to release this year.. no date has been specified yet, but i heard it may not be turn based tactical like its predecessors.

civ doesnt really stress much tactical strategy and is more of a builder type game i find. there are a few tactics-type game by smaller publishing companies king's bounty/grotesque tactics/front mission... but nothing much in that genre that I would consider a great game... and no where near the production quality as your blockbuster games...

Oh yeah, I heard about the new Xcom game in the works. They released news about that a while ago though.

civ 5 is like civ1,2,3&4... besides improved graphics it's mostly the same game its always been... which is nothing to shrug at... but just don't expect anything ground breaking.

there were some bugs with trade/diplomacy when i was playing it a month or so ago.. hopefully they have ironed out some of those issues.

Since I haven't played civ 1, 2, 3, or 4, I decided to get Civ 5 for PC. The 360 version just looked really bad.

from what i understand pc games > any console game almost at any given time.
the problem is just making sure that your pc can handle the game.

there are lots of cases where console > pc... nhl 07-09 is a good example.

a lot of games that are initially designed for console and ported over to pc later, don't always put in the effort of making a good port, the end result is sometimes a glitchier game...

i guess playing with a controller for certain games sure beats playing with a full keyboard and a mouse and a headset integrated into your leather recliner chair and a full blown command center in your basement (like in die hard 4 haha).

i remember street fighter for pc was pretty bad, now that i think about it.
