So why was Tom choosen then? Anyone who read the book knows that Jack is full of muscles, probably been to Brussels.

Holy crap, I was looking up the Jack Reacharound books on Kindle and found out there are about a dozen of them. That's way too many for me to read.

I just read the first Jack Reacher book... it was alright, but nothing to write home about.

It's true though - Tom Cruise totally doesn't fit the physical description of Jack Reacher. Jack Reacher is over 6ft tall and heavily built. He's an ex-army cop.

they made that guy in harry potter look taller and that guy in lord of the rings look shorter and that other non-guy look like yoda in star wars. anything's possible.

They make Tom Cruise look taller in all his movies. He's a really short guy.

So I watched this on the plane. It's close to the book, only thing is, Cruise's muscles do look like they are 50+ when he had his shirt off, barely taller than the female characters and not intimidating at all.
