i think affleck is only a so-so actor. both argo and town are great movies. but i don't think his acting in either were particularly spectacular. both had compelling stories and probably even direction (so credit affleck for that). his acting in argo i though was just alright. and I thought he was undershadowed by renner's performance in the town (and even hall's to a lesser degree for that matter).
i haven't seen a very wide range roles from affleck to be honest, whether playing a CIA agent or a bank robber, he seems to come off as generally the same personality.
i can't blame affleck completely for the horribleness of daredevil though, that movie was just all sorts of bad, from the story, direction, acting, etc..
it's interesting they that they are pairing an older,established batman with a younger superman. I think they would have been much better off doing a batman reboot though first prior to this crossover, if this batman is outside of the nolanverse, we basically have no background on this version, even though he is supposed to be the more established of the two heroes.
