signed up last night too. it just says you'll be notified during the beta, in the months before the release.

Just read a preview on the game and more info on gameplay.

You can't actually play as any of the famous superheroes. They are all NPC characters in the game.
Where the trailer left off was Lex warning the past superheroes about Brainiac. What happens next is Brainiac in the future is absorbing all the superpowers he can get from the heroes. Lex somehow steals a superpower storage container and brings it to the past to give to the superheroes. They open up the container and the absorbed superpowers burst into the atmosphere and regular citizens get superpowers.

You start off in the selection screen and you get to pick good or evil, and within good and evil, there are your choices of different types of powers like tech (i.e. Batman), magical (i.e. Wonder Woman), alien (i.e. Superman).

So far, the gameplay is looking more like the traditional MMORPG we're used to seeing in games like WoW.

the game sounded cool at first, but after gordon's synopsis of the premise, i think i'll just download the cut scenes instead.

Game has been delayed til Feb 2011. If your pre-purchase you get to play their ongoing beta test version though.

There were probably a buttload of people signing up for the beta... it's like winning the lottery with these beta test sign ups.

i hope this game isn't just all hype and that it's actually going to be good. however, i can see myself wanting to watch it as a movie rather than play it as a game.

Yeah, it looks like a pretty good idea for one of those animated Justice League movies.
