i guess if it's an animated adaptation of something (which is weird, seeing as how the originals are animated). but movies like avatar and beowulf did pretty well.

avatar did well because it was james cameron... i dunno, that guy's just a money machine...

and beowulf did alright, it wasn't a huge hit but i suppose it did alright in it's own right... but beowulf and avatar are only two i can think of that did well... CG cartoony action movies don't do well in general if you think about it...

batman: mask of the phantasm supposedly did well (without having the ratings in front of me), but i see what you mean.

however, there's no reason to make a straight to video release with something like this. they do that with barbie/disney/dc/marvel animated feature lengths all the time. i'd totally download it if they did haha.

not arguing that they shouldn't do it... i agree, the animation in the trailer for this game is awesome. But i have a feeling Michael Bay has some monopoly on the Transformer movies these days...

he probably doesn't. there are still a lot of animated tf series coming out since the movies started.

series or movies? i'm thinking the theatre movies, not the straight to dvd stuff they pump out

i'm not sure if a lot of the straight to dvd movies were meant to be straight to dvd. some were made to be full features, but they weren't good enough to get any theatre backing. the original gi joe the movie is an example of this. however, that was like 25 years ago.

having said that, i don't think bay has exclusive rights to making tf movies, soley on the fact that i've heard rumours of some animated movie for a while (but then, they were just rumours). either case, if he did, it's probably over now that the third one came out (from what i remember he had signed she-ra the buff for 3 movies only).

just finished this game. It's not very challenging, but it's pretty neat because you get to play both decepticons and autobots. the ending has prime fighting megatron (big surprise) but you actually get to choose who you want to be. So i guess there are two alternate endings depending on whether you choose to fight as prime or megatron.

anyways, anyone want to borrow this before i trade it in and get assassin's creed 3?

The first one you play as autobot or decepticon too.
I heard there were a lot of references to the original movie from 86.

didn't play the first one so i dunno.

yea, there were quite a few references. and at the end when you're done, it plays the "you got the touch" song (don't even know if that's the title haha... sorry, not as big of a transformer fanboi as some others)

"you got the touch" is the right name, by 80's superstar stan bush.
i also heard that megatron says something like "coronation starscream? that's bad comedy". that must have been where galvatron got the idea from.

yea, i vaguely remember him saying something like that... there were a few lines that were throwbacks to the original movie, but i can't remember off the top of my head atm... but ben could probably tell you... i'm assuming he found out that i had the game from you nat? haha.. cuz he was texting me non stop about the game and all the lines and how awesome it was the other day haha

yeah, he texted me telling me that he finished it on saturday or something. he mentioned that they played "the touch" at the end and i was like, yeah, dunc mentioned that.

then he was like, he got it too? and i said yeah.














then i never heard from him again.
