I play hunger games all the time, especially during lunch, do I go and get something to eat or not, most of the time hunger wins and I go get something to eat.

and lol, the only reason why hunger games is so popular is the same reason why other garbage movies are popular, teens are stupid, they read stupid books like twilight, and harry pothead and the movie industry cashes in on their stupidity...

Well, even though I found this movie reasonable, there still is such a thing as a limit to how far the fetchedness should go in fiction. If you're way too out there, it'll be too hard for the audience to accept. Unless you're not trying to appease your audience, then I guess it doesn't really matter.

just because it's fiction doesn't mean it should be far fetched. what make good actors good? they're believable.
same with good movies/stories. they're good because they're believable.

dare i say, even michael bay said no to megatron turning into a gun because it was "unbelievable" that such a large robot could turn into such a small weapon.

yes, but yet you all gab about the good ol transformer days when megatron did turn into a gun... i'm not saying it HAS to be far fetched, but it being fictional kinda comes with the territory. that's what makes fiction such a great genre of entertainment. It allows people to escape what's real. starwars is pretty far fetched. I agree with the fact that believable actors are what makes them good, but it doesn't go for movies/stories. being believable isn't what makes a movie/story good. It's if it connects with you, or entertains you. You don't listen to a story or watch a movie and say, "Yea, i believe that there could be a vigilante in a crime corrupt city who dresses up like a bat, so this movie must be good". or "I believe a spider could survive a radio active ray and bite one person and transform them into a wall crawling crime fighter".

The actors make the movie believable. If the actors are believable, and the plot is entertaining, for Fictional movies, then that's what's makes a movie good imho. Dare i say, name me your favourite fictional movie of all time, and we can pick apart the plot and find that it's unbelievable.

If you find entertainment in a believable plots, then i suppose you could make that correlation, but lets face it, since the beginning of time, theatrical entertainment was created as an escape from the everyday norm. If you want to watch something believable, then you can watch documentaries lol.

oh, and by no means am i saying this movie was good.... it was meh imho, but i'm just saying, something being unbelievable isn't a deal breaker. The fact that the acting was horrible was what hurt it... although jennifer lawrence helped lol

Fast and furious is totally believable, especially pulling a bank vault around the city.

either case, this movie sucked. it was unbelievable not because they had a train that was quiet while it travelled 200mph, but because basic human impulses/thoughts were ignored and left out. that IS what makes a story bad because you cannot connect with a character that will go through something that isn't possible for a human to go through (i.e. an entire community being presented with an out to theirr plight and not to a damn thing to try and secure that out). unless, of course, you feel like you connect with a community that could be that lazy and short-sighted.
