The story was kind of cool, but the action sequences were oddly slow. I mean slow literally, like their special effects would shoot out slowly. So slowly that it seems you could easily dodge a fireball or read the enemy's moves. I don't know how to explain it.. watch the movie and you'll notice what I'm talking about.
Otherwise, I don't see anything too special about this movie. Nothing M. Knight Shyamalan about it at all.

the movie is epic fail compared to it's cartoon counterpart. I watched the entire cartoon series and rank it probably one of the best North American cartoons in recent times and despite it being made to be child-friendly (it is nickolodeon after all)
The action scenes are adapted from the way the action is done in the cartoon, but i think the kid-friendly aspect may play a part in the pace of action sequences. But I found the character and plot development quite thin compared to the tv series though.
If you have time to kill and don't mind sitting through some corniness aspect of a kids cartoon I recommend that people watch the original tv series. it actually won several awards. This movie only included the plot from the first season of the tv series.
I'd give the movie a 2 out of 5.
I'd give the tv series a 4.5 out of 5.

Duncan gave me the first few seasons of the TV series and I've only watched a few episodes.
When I first saw it on TV, I actually thought it was a Japanese based cartoon, but when I was actually pretty surprised when I found out it was Nickelodeon.

it felt like watching tai chi dragon ball or some BS............ everything was super slow.
They'd just dance around for like 10 minutes, then something happens, and they dance around some more.
sucked.

I think they were setting up for a sequel, but I don't think the sequel is going to happen.

the cartoon was pretty good... movie was epic fail i agree... they kinda blasted through the whole first season and tried to fit in everything into the movie... i mean, i'll give them points for being quite true to the cartoon, but it was pretty lame imo. wasn't impressed at all...
go watch the cartoon.. it's 10x better
