Aw man... I can't believe that Tom Cruise is Jack... he is sooooooo the opposite of who I had in mind reading all those books.
Lame

Never heard of him but I agree completely. Tom Cruise annoys the crap out of me. Glad Katie came to her senses.

Really? Jack is suppose to be 6'6 and 220lbs+. I know they were making a movie, but Tom....?

Lol, just saw the trailer. In all the books, he's usually the tallest guy, and in the movie, he's the shortest.

EX-military cop going around solving problems. Based on a series of books by Lee Child. Sorta like American version of James bond without all the fancy gadgets.
Brook Lesner woulda been better than Tom for the role.

You mean Brock Lesnar? I was thinking Dwayne Johnson.

i was thinking conan o'brien.
you can find lee child's jack reacher books all along the top shelf under fiction at chapters. i've been leafing through them like crazy, tempted to buy but knowing that i'll never have the time (or motivation) to read them. actually the only reason i wanted to read them was that a pastor (hergy actually) mentioned them and said that they get a little theological at times. that paired with their increasing popularity makes for good sermon fodder.

Is this the same Lee Child that teamed up with Douglas Preston to write The Relic?

I think that's Lincoln Child. I have most of Lee Childs books except for the 3 most recent releases, since I finished them in store.

Theological how? As a guy without an addresss going around helping ppl? Doing what he thinks is right?

he just mentioned an excerpt from "the enemy" where some lady was talking about death. i was actually going to use it in a funeral, but i didn't know the context well enough. i tried leafing through the book to find it, but it's a dang thick book to find a few paragraphs of a random conversation.
if you really think about it though, any well-written story could have a theological message. it might not be deep or good or even correct, but almost anything could be interpreted under a theological guise.

The vampire Eric or the wolf dude from True Blood would be the perfect Jack Reacher. Both are over 6'6" both are ripped, and both can act better than Tom
