I think that most of our wives have seen the musical already so they'll be a little more prepared than the newbs.

Oh yeah, and it still is my favourite musical of all time so the movie has a lot to prove to me. That being said, the Liam Neeson version was quite enjoyable, but still not even close to the raw emotional power of the Original London Cast. I am a HUGE Anne fan though. Huge Ass Man... not so much.

i watched bits of some making of on it... supposedly this is one of the first hollywood production musicals where, there are no voiceovers and the actors singing live during filming.

supposedly that gave the actors more control with how they approach each song so it transitions more naturally to their screen performance rather than lip a voice over that was recorded in a studio.

everything i heard about it has been pretty positive so far.... unlike the hobbit.
