it's a popular show, in it's 9th season. but i'm just on the first, and so far it's not that great. pretty predictable, just like the first few seasons of smallville.

i think the story builds after the first season... they get into an actual storyline and back story later on

Your youth probably wants to talk about the last 2 or 3 seasons because it starts talking about God, angels and demons. The first 5 or 6 seasons was just ghosts and random paranormal stuff.

k supernatural is way-off topic, but i watch the show regularly. i think i started watching in season 4... i know a lot of teen girls watch it (according to my wife), i don't understand why... seems like more of a guy show to me... there's not a lot of drama, mostly just about two bros ganking monsters...
never watch the first few seasons so i can't comment on them. i would skip ahead to season 4, if the first few seem snorefest.

Yeah, mod might want to snip this last section about Supernatural into a new thread?
I've been watching from season 1. I thought it was interesting but I'm into that kinda stuff. Teen girls probably watch it cuz Jensen Ackles used to be a model and a soap opera hunk. Jared Padelecki is buff and hot too. Yowza

Alright, looks like you all are determined to talk about Supernatural.
*snip* *snip*
I think I watched most of it as they recently started showing it on Space Channel. Didn't really care for it, and no, I wouldn't be looking at it for theological insights.

I lol'ed at "the number 40 is biblical numerology, it means death". No, it doesn't mean death.
Also the episode where the ring showed up.

so i'm like on episode 17 or something now. i'm losing sleep because i keep watching. the lame thing is that only one out of 3-4 episodes actually talk about anything relating to the premise set out for season 1, which is finding their dad. the rest of the episodes are just fillers.
i wish there was a guide to tell me which episodes to watch to get the main story so i don't have to watch all the crap.

Lots of shows have fillers. They do more storyline episodes as you get to season 4 or 5 and beyond.

i can't speak for the fillers from season 1, but even the "filler" episodes in the later seasons often get re-visited later on starting up little side stories or reoccurring characters, etc...

I think a lot of people starting watching at season 3 or 4. You're not missing much either if you want to start there. Watching from season 1 is actually hardcore mode.
Not much in terms of storyline stuff happens in seasons 1-3.
