So I've been binge watching Mad Men, and I'm pretty up to date now.

The storyline is pretty engaging and the character development is interesting up to a certain point. However, I can't see how this show is rated so high (#1 show on tv, according to some). I guess it could be the sex appeal (there's a LOT of sex, although no full-on nudity), classy style (clothes or mannerisms of the 60's) or the overall period setting of the 60's... I could see that being the case, but I don't know.

It's an entertaining show, but I noticed some weird storyline inconsistencies and some annoying character traits. I don't want to give away spoilers though... so I'll leave it at that.

i wasn't ever really interested in watching this, but i know a lot (like a LOT) of my friends are totally enamoured by the 50's and 60's. that's probably the appeal.

the only thing for me going for the 50's is that's when doc brown invented time travel. he was standing on his toilet hanging a clock, he slipped, hit his head, and when he came to he drew a picture of this... the flux capacitor.
