anyone else watch this show?
i was a bit disappointed watching the pilot episode... i thought they seemed to be over-doing the batman references from the get go.
i hope it gets better...

I just watched it. The general "Gotham" atmosphere they created seems to look like a mix between the Tim Burton and Christopher Nolan's Gothams, which I found kinda cool. I also like how they're making Jim Gordon to be pretty kickass, like how he answered the riddle immediately.
You're right though, they really loaded up on the Batman references. I'm not sure if I like or dislike that though.

i don't like alfred. like, at all.
and at first i was thinking that it'd be like a batman version of smallville, but i don't think it'll work the same way as bruce has to learn stuff, right now he's just a crappy kid. the "4th and grundy" line was stupid, and the oracle reference was stupid, and catwoman is kinda dumb. penguin and riddler are cool, and did anyone else think that the comedian was joker? not sure if you noticed the strippers had harley quinn colours on.

They said right from the beginning that this show isn't going to focus on Batman or Bruce Wayne. It's about Gotham city with Jim Gordon as the main character. Doesn't Bruce Wayne disappear from Gotham during his youth anyway? He goes off to boarding school and travels around the world and joins up with R'as al Ghul at one point.

i watched this as well. I think it has potential as long as they don't go too heavy into the batman references all at once. it's like playing your big 2 right in the beginning. And is penguin the creepy art brother from wedding crashers who has a crush on vince vaughn? lol

i'm starting to really like the oswald cobblepot character. however, i kinda wish they focussed more on joker, since he's really batman's nemesis. but i guess since joker's origin was never really unequivocally defined or revealed (as far as i know), maybe they wanted to keep the mystery around that. however, i don't think i'd complain if they did it anyway.
and did they put make up on catwoman's face to make her look more like a cat? or is the bridge of her nose/brow really shaped that way? it's starting to creep me out a little.

so i just looked up catwoman to see what she actually looks like in real life (ish), and now i'm starting to think she was cast because of her resemblance to michelle pfeiffer amirite?

never drew the connection to Michelle Pfeiffer, but i thought she was cast just because she looked like a cat because of her funny face

that pic i posted sure looks like michelle pfeiffer, i never thought so otherwise though.
so this week's episode wasn't bad. i hope they develop bruce a bit more in learning how to solve crimes and stuff. i really hope they don't make him this mastermind right off the bat (see what i did there?) and solve all these crimes without breaking a sweat.
and i wonder what this liza character is about.

I've been watching this show and I can see that the show has pretty good quality acting and production value. The part I don't like is how they keep introducing all the Batman villains in their pre-villain status. It makes it kind of tacky.

I thought the same thing that catwoman was cast because of the resemblance.

It's a younger alfred, before his joints became arthritic.
