LED Bulbs

Postby Wetundies » Mon Jul 05, 2010 11:09 pm

Anyone interested in LED bulbs?

this is what i have http://www.greenimagetech.com/products_ ... tegoryID=1, one that is not listed is the GU10 bulbs. I'm placing a large order for a customer, so if any one wants it, i'll give it to you at cost. I don't normally recommanded it for residential use because of the high cost, but i had one customer who replaced everyone in his home. He said his electric bill is 1/6th of what it use to be.

How much do they cost? A standard bulb, 5W LED = 60W incandescent = 11W CFL is about $23.00, 3W GU10 = 35W GU10 Halogen is about $16.00.

They will last 30,000 - 50,000 hrs, depending on the type of bulb, so you do the math.

I also have lights that can make your house look like the Shanghai Expo, but it's a little early for xmas. A customer is demoing one in Richmond on Alderbridge somewhere.

Are the MR16 ones just for regular track lighting sockets?
What's the cost on them?

If it's from Ikea, it's most likely GU10s. Look at the socket, two round holes is GU10, 2 pin holes is MR16, screw type is E26 (most common), E14 for small lamps.

It's the pin type, but just checking to make sure there isn't more than one pin type track lighting bulb.

So how much for the MR16's? Are they the same as the GU10's at $16?
If so, I'll take 4 warm whites please.

Hey so, what's going on with these bulbs? Can I still get them?
If not, I'm gonna go to Home Depot to buy them.

I don't know if you noticed Joel, but my kitchen was using the LED bulbs.
I'm not a huge fan either. I want to say they're not as bright as the regular halogen lights, but I think it's more that they are more focused so the area which is lighted is less. That gives the impression of not being as bright.

They definitely are cheaper on electricity and gives off a LOT less heat, so that's a bonus. I might change back to regular halogens for the winter season.

Yes there are bulbs for cars, i just didn't bother cuz that's no the area i'm in. If you want, i can pick up some. You want DRL, in red, green, blue, yellow or white? or some RGB strip lights running throughout the car?

I know the ones G and Jay got aren't bright enough cuz they were only 3 watts each so it's the same as a 35 watt halogen, Joe is using a 7 watt one, and those are a lot brighter! Got a condo in downtown using the 7watt ones, and they said those are a lot brighter than their halogens that did had.
