I think losing body fat is more diet than work out from what i hear.. have you changed your diet as well? i'm too lazy to dig into the rest of this thread because i can't remember if you were going to change your diet as well...

so i am increasing my workout routine to include a couple of 60-75 minute cardio sessions throughout the week. I would also like to add a swimming session on the weekend.

Hopefully a month of that should really help me catch up on my current pace.

my end results are fail! Good thing there was no wager, although, who knows maybe that was the motivation i need to put me over the top.

anyways i'm probably sitting at around 178-179 pds right now.. and maybe 17% body fat? It's been tough to get as much workout the last few days because i've been getting over this cold.

In any case, i think I am setting a new goal of 170pds for myself. which may get me closer to the body fat % i want. Plus any less weight on my knees is always a good thing.

Meet with the surgeon today. I have surgery booked for April 21st to remove scarred cartilage from the right knee.

thats good, my friend had a torn miniscus in the knee fixed and he was back skiing, biking and doing judo in less than a month.

Have you thought about taking glucosamine? how did your weight loss go?

the surgeon said it's the cartilage behind the knee cap...

didn't say anything about the miniscus and said my ligaments look good.

my work outs have been on hiatus b/c my other knee is sprained. i am probably about 10pds away from my current goal weight right now. As soon as the swelling is gone I am going to go at it pretty hard, hopefully post-op recovery will be quick, he said i should be able to walk after a few days.

Ok so i started my rehab this week. been doing about 60+ minutes a day, in about 20 minute intervals... my knee feels better than it did pre-surgery... not as good as pre-injury tho', hopefully another 3-4 weeks of this it'll be good as it was before though.

so had my first power skating lesson on Sunday. while my knee didn't give me too much trouble... i felt bagged throughout most of the session, we did a quick scrim after and i was literally taking 15 second shifts or less...Not sure why i was so bagged when i've been doing so much cardio... i think i'll need to add some interval sprints to my cardio regiment. anyways 4 more sessions and I am hoping that I'll be hockey ready by the end of it.

it's been forever since i stepped on to a scale.. i'm guessing i am probably sitting somewhere between 175-180pds right now though. still would like to drop to about 170 by end of summer. and ultimately somewhere around the 160 range if that's even possible.

last powerskating session this sunday. i've felt pretty good on the ice... maybe ready enough to play a full game, think my knee is about 90% of what it was like in the past. but starting to think that 90% is maybe the best i can get it at this point.

hoping to get some more hikes in this summer.

i haven't weighed myself in quite a while, since i have no scale at home. i think i am still sitting somewhere around 175-180 though. Inspired by Jai's goal for season start I am going to aim for 165-170 range by start of the hockey season.

I really want to be as prepared as i can for this fall season. I am so unbelievable hungry to play this fall and to play at a level higher than i have ever before.
