not so much...
had a rough night last night, couldn't sleep until 3 or something and didn't sleep well. alarm went off and i contemplated waking up but it was too difficult so i just hit snooze. and i don't remember anything for a whole hour after that.

i finally woke up at 9 and just showered and went to work.

cool what sort of tunes do you load up for exercising? I am curious. do you use like more up-tempo "pump-up" music or just the regular music you listen to anyways? or audio books...

usually music with a beat so i want to move my body.
some good tracks that i had in my "work out" playlist on my old nano (i didn't set up the playlists on this one yet and i deleted them off itunes because something was messed up) are:
shut up and drive - rihanna
rewind - flo rida feat wyclef
the club can't handle me - flo rida
remember the name - fort minor
keep on lovin me - cassie feat the dream
almost anything by 2pac or dmx
and of course good vibrations - marky mark and the funky bunch

the list goes on. sometimes i just listen to anything, but i find that when i have a good beat i run faster and work harder.

hey remember me?

well, i finally got out of bed today so i could do some sort of "work out". i basically sat on the bike peddling my ass off, it's hard when you don't know what you're doing. i thought i'd stop when the computer said i've gone 5km, which is about the distance from home to work. i figure this way i don't have to bike to work.

then did a couple sets of push ups and bridges or whatever it's called. i felt pretty tired.

but man alive i'm glad there was no money involved or shaun would just have cleaned up lol. well, maybe some others too, but i sure has heck would have lost.

good news is that i've been waking up at 8 everyday, i just don't get out of bed at 8.

Congrats on starting. 30-45 minutes is probably a good place to start on the bike.

yeah so guess who finally got back on the horse.

after all these months (actually my whole life), i've conceded that trying to wake up early is a lost cause. so being the night person that i am, i'm on the bike at night. started a couple nights ago, i wait for winnie to put ryan to sleep then i get on it. i've just been trying to bike to 5km as fast as i could. so far i've been at 16 minutes, and i'm pretty beat after that. i take a short break and do a little upper body stuff on the total gym.

that's the time of day that i usually just sit there and surf the net. i thought i might as well do something more productive since i'll be up anyway.

doesn't working out so late at night make it hard to go to bed at night? i know i can't sleep until at least 2 hrs after i've played a hockey game because of all the adrenaline/blood pumping in my system.

yeah, i was afraid that working out at night would make me sleep worse, but then i figured that my sleeping habits freaking suck anyway, not like it could get any worse.

the only thing that i was worried about was that i read that working out the morning is best because it keeps your heart rate up all day, thus improving your metabolism. working out at night will only give you that short time of good metabolism before you sleep and your heart rate drops. but then i thought, something is probably better than nothing. let's see if i can keep it up.

i was working out pretty consistantly for a good 2-3 months leading into summer. but when i got back from seattle at the beginning of august everything just halted. then after a bunch of excuses, my new exercise room is pretty much almost set up so hopefully i can get back on the horse.

the problem again is finding the time. the past couple nights ryan wanted me to put him to sleep so that puts a kink in the original plans. i can try to aim for morning again, but lately ryan wakes up before i do.

horry crap. i finally got back on the horse after an almost 2 month hiatus. on the treadmill for 20 minutes at varying speeds and full incline, then a few reps on the total gym. i'm TIRED.

i'm going to try to ease back in and hopefully i'll be back to where i was 2 months ago (which isn't saying much) in a few weeks.
