that's great to hear that your lifestyle changing is rubbing off on the wife too. I think it helps when your significant other is onboard especially when it comes to changing diet.

It's a lot tougher to change your diet, if the person across from your is stuffing their faces with foods you can no longer eat.

Excercising is always more motivating when you aren't doing it alone either.

haha, yeah that reminds me of joe complaining about jenn not staying away from dairy for whatever reason. i asked him if he's staying away from dairy and he's like "no". so i was like how do you expect her to if there's all this dairy in the house?

i've still been trying to think up some goals for myself. i guess i haven't been trying hard enough...

That's not a half bad challenge for you... healthy eating. Maybe not for a year, and maybe not just fried food, but we could change it up a bit.

that was easy.

diet changes are hard since winnie and i don't always cook for ourselves. sure, maybe it's an excuse but it's the truth. sometimes i get home and the food is already there, i have no say in it.

It wouldn't be a challenge if it was easy.
If you were to start on a diet, then most likely you'd have to cook for yourself unless Winnie's on board with it too.

Or, it could be even something as simple as cutting out pop, juice and beer. Or if you're eating at home, just eat the food given to you, but cut out one of the big carbs like rice, bread or pasta.

your challenge can be based on diet, based on alter body composition or completing some type of measurable physical feat.

it should really be based on what YOU want out of it... if it isn't you won't be very motivated to complete it.

I guess one other thing is your goal has to be measurable and provable.

"no fried food for a year" can't be a goal b/c there is no way to really prove that you did it.

yeah, that's why i was looking for some ideas.

i was thinking maybe shaving a few inches off my waist, i wear a 34 now but there's some give, so i imagine i'm probably a 33. going back to 31/32 maybe is a start?

You could also do one of the Rona Ride for MS bike tours.
Raise money for MS.
Train on your exercise bike during the winter.
If you stick with it, I'm sure someone could lend you a bike to do the tour if you don't have one.
The Rona tours are not races. Go at your own pace. Anybody can do them.

oh my friend did one of those, she rode from here to seattle or something in 2 days or something.
i'm not really one to ride a bike for that long though, or wear those shorts that they wear....

you can set waist size as a goal if that's what you want. I'd suggest using actual measuring tape rather than just pant size though.
