eat fruit... straight up fresh fruit. No dried, processed in a bag type stuff. 95% of that stuff has stuff that's probably not good for you anyways...

sometimes munching on an apple at work gives me more of a kick in my day than eating an energy bar... Just buy a bag of apples, oranges, bananas and bring a couple to work every day... i find these days i'd take an apple over some sorta bar/chip any day... except for ketchup chips... mm... how i miss thee

It looks like many of us have been slipping on our projected health challenges or have already lost. Well it's never to late to keep try and with warm weather come around it's a great time to go out and get some exercise.

Let's try to get this thing started up again for those of us have been slipping. Maybe we actually put money down this time to get some incentive to hit our marks too.

new goal is to run 10k in under an hour for the sunrun.

then after that, i'll be bulking again and be trying to put on 5 lbs of solid muscle in about 6 months

How long (distance) have your training runs been?

Not sure if you've ever done it before, but I have a tip. People say not to start off too fast but for the Sun Run I'd suggest running the first mile a bit quicker than goal pace (or at least try not to hold back too much). Two reasons: 1) It's a significant downhill. 2) There's a major bottleneck around the second mile and you will likely lose a fair bit of time there.

At least, that's what I try and do.

cool, good to know. Never done it before, I walked it last year.

Been doing about 7 miles in 45 mins on the treadmill without much problems.

I think I'm just gonna run at 170 bpm for most of the race, then push it for the last 1k.

some of the time that gets chewed up during the sun run mind you is the extra time it takes you to run around losers who start walking in front of you because they signed up for an earlier start time than you and thought they were superstars and didn't have to train. not to mention some uphill areas, but not that many from what i remember.

But if you can do 7 miles in 45 min on the treadmill then you should be plenty fine
