Watermania in Richmond:
50m pool - sometimes they have the bulkhead set up so it becomes 2 25m pools. 1 for lap swimming, 1 for public swimming.
I believe there's also a wave-pool for the kids and a 20m warm-up pool.
This is my favorite of the three locations that I've been to, even if it is a tad more expensive and a bit further away.
I also like it better because they have a more consistant day-day schedule, whereas other pools only have lap swimming at (seemingly) random days/times that is hard (if not impossible) to remember. ie. from 6-9 MTF, 3-5MWTh, 7pm-9pm WSa, etc. (Note: I made up the days and times however, the randmonness in the schedules is accurate.)
Bonsor:
1 25m pool. I found it to be fairly busy, but there was usually enough room for me.
Weekends were rather nuts. When I went they only had like 2 lap lanes open and the rest was for Public Swimming.
Canada Games Brown pool - New Westminster
I've only been there a few times, and I've found it to be quite chlorinated.
My least favorite of the three. It just seems... dirty to me. Dunno why.
Sounds like Joel is looking for a Public Swim (vs Lap swimming). ie. Treading water > swimming back and forth in endless laps. Just something to keep in mind.
You should check online for pool availability.
