So apparently I have high blood pressure. I sat down at london drugs and put my arm in one of those blood pressure machines.
It read 149/65
I have a feeling its from my high protein/fat diet, lots of salt, and lack of fiber.
Thing is that I exercise regularily, pretty fit, feel pretty healthy. Anyone have experience with high blood pressure?

I think you have to be calm and relaxed when you do it. Did you sit there for at least 5 minutes before taking the test? Also, if you have big pipes the test will be inaccurate.
I checked my bp on my mom's machine over the Christmas holidays. 104/64.

Go see your GP. Should reduce sodium intake. Easily treated with acupuncture.

Yeah, those machines at London Drugs are not very accurate...
Did you have to push your sleeve up? That affects the reading... noises and stuff around you will affect it too. Also, bp goes up and down during the day, depending on when you just ate or if you just woke up or if you're tired, etc. The best way to get an accurate reading is to take it 3 times during the day and take an average.
I have a BP machine with a larger cuff, so that might be better for you if you want to borrow it.

took it twice, once at london drugs and once at shoppers.. both times my first number was in the high blood pressure range.
probably reduce sodium, include more fiber in my diet.

Actually.. your diastolic pressure is in the low blood pressure range.
I think you should get a reading on a better machine.

it says right on the machine that it's not a diagnostic tool. go see a doctor if you're worried man.
