so joyce and I have started running the terry fox trail at central park every sunday before service. and are open to anyone else joining us if they are so inclined. we go at a pretty slow pace just a bit faster than walking pace. it takes us about 45min to do the 5k circuit.

we are also opening to do different trails and different times if suggested. let us know if you'd like to join us in some exercise, taking in a bit of nature, and just general fellowshipping.

i have the running room clinic tonight at 630p. It's "bring a buddy" night, so it's free to bring someone. they are going to be talking about proper footwear for the pre-run lecture. If any of you are interested in trying it out, let me know.

What are you guys going to do now that it's rainy season?

they run irregardless of the weather. they talk about running in different weather conditions too, what you may need, what you have to deal with. this current clinic runs until sometime in november so it'll be pretty cold weather too.

The worst part of running in cold rainy weather is getting out the door.
Once you're out there and wet, it's not so bad.
Running in the dark kinda sucks though, 'cause traffic is dangerous and sidewalks are uneven at times.

Out of everything, I think I dislike the wind the most.

Joel's gonna be hardcore runner in no time.

shaun do you do much running in the snow too? I've seen those hardcore cleat things you can wear on your shoes for snow running... but i don't think i could handle that...

and we haven't really done anything too hardcore yet. the most is like 7k at slow pace. but joyce and I have brought our 45min pace of 5k down to 33minutes

I have run in the snow, but I haven't tried those cleats. Last year was the first full winter that I ran through and there wasn't much here. I ran at my parents' place and there was snow there in patches but for the most part I was able to avoid it last year.

Who knows about this year though.

not sure yet... it's usually a last minute decision whether we go or not. the weather looks pretty decent right now so there's a good chance. I'll have to see how Joyce is feeling today after work.

i am starting to find it pretty cold lately for running though. I should probably get a jacket soon.

Looks like today is Hill repeats x4 for our 10k group.
