Cauliflower rice

I was researching the Paleo diet and came across "Cauliflower rice" on a list of approved foods as a good replacement for regular rice. I've never heard of this before, but apparently it's becoming a pretty popular food for a lot of different diets:

I've never been a huge fan of rice to begin with, but it's hard to not eat it when my honger wife demands it. I think she might be okay with this switch though. I'm curious to try now.

lol.. not a huge fan of cauliflower but i wouldn't mind trying it.

But the author does say "The real deal is that you are not ever going to trick yourself into thinking you are eating rice. Maybe if you spice it up like crazy and close your eyes, you could convince yourself you are eating something similar to Uncle Ben’s Boil in a Bag White Rice? Maybe."

i have a feeling your wife won't like it as an alternative lol

speaking of cauliflower done in some crazy honger way, have you guys ever had cooked cauliflower smothered in mushroom soup? i never had it before meeting winnie, nor have i ever had it anywhere else but with her. i'm just wondering if this crazy family made up that weird dish.

you can cover anything with thick mushroom soup, it's like mushroom sauce.

i think that's his point though... chinese people use it as a sauce for everything... i've had it before i think... my parents have even used mushroom soup as a base for pasta sauce... lol

I think they call it "a la king", although I've never had it with just cauliflower. Chicken mostly.

They also like to use creamed corn as sauce for everything.

but it's the same idea... mushroom soup is... soup... not a sauce... so putting it on anything as a sauce, pasta or cauliflower is the same idea imo.

oh well, at least it's not like the ketchup spaghetti sauce that is so common in chinese households... bleh

i didn't think the mushroom soup/cauliflower was weird because you're using the soup as a sauce, but i thought it was weird because cauliflower with mushroom soup on it seems like a weird combo.

it's like putting peanut butter on cereal.

re-read my comment again.
i said i don't think mushroom soup is weird as a sauce, but i think it's a weird combo to put mushroom soup with cauliflower.

because i think putting peanut butter on cereal is weird doesn't mean i have to think peanut butter is weird.

the mushroom soup is a sauce for the cauliflower, so ur statement is weird.

no, spelling "your" without the "y" and "o" is weird.

ketchup is a sauce. i don't think that's weird. but i think it's weird if you put ketchup as a sauce for your milk. how is that not logical?
