7mbps or 50mbps?

what's the price difference of 7mps and 50? if it's small, i'd go with 50.

actually, joel quoted the 7mbps as more expensive than the 50... but i think it's only because of the tv packages he was tacking on

finally talked with a shaw rep today and changed my plan to the following:
10Mbps (down)
Personal TV + Best of HD (basically what i already had + a couple of extras like space, etc..)
for 79.90

so my bill comes down about 20 bucks (240$ savings a year!), i got slightly faster internet, and 1 or 2 more channels.

considered going with going just "personal tv" which would have brought it down another 20, but i will try this out for now.

by the way for any of you that are using shaw. you should go ask for one of their new bundles. they basically phased out their old internet plans with speeds of 1Mbps and 7.5Mbps and upgraded them to 10Mbps and 20 Mbps respectively.

so there's no point in keeping the grandfathered plans unless you just want to pay more and get less. i used their online chat to change my plan too. so it was pretty convenient too.

still not a +6MB/s download bandwidth tho'...

Yeah, it was like that with Telus too. My dad was paying a grandfathered rate for 10 years, AND they kept him at the original speeds of his original plan. It's dumb that they don't upgrade at least the speeds.

hm, maybe i'll look at our bill and change things around too. i wouldn't mind more for less (although we don't use everything we have, so i wouldn't mind less period lol).
