hey guys, I just wanted to give an update on what i decided to do. It took me a while to mull it over and I am going to go with the contracting position.

It wasn't so much the salary as it was the future career opportunity that this position might open up, and how it might help position me in the future, to potentially help out some of my current colleagues. i am definitely hesitant and nervous with taking this job as out of the two opportunities this one really requires me to leave my comfort zone. but i really wanted to make the choice that God wants me to take.
while I can't say that this choice is the right one for sure, i know that God has spent the past year or so helping to let go of some of my fears and trust more in Him, especially in my workplace. so i guess i feel more prepared for this leap now.

thanks again everyone for their input. all of your opinions and feedback have been invaluable.

great to hear that you've put God first in this decision. I'm sure you'll have plenty of time to pick Dave/Jai/Fynn's brain on how to get your set up going so you can maximize the advantages of contract work.

setup a corp with multiple stock classes, voting and non voting, give joyce some none voting with dividends, so you can issue dividends to her at a lower tax rate as well as to urself.

i am giving my notice to accenture tomorrow as soon as all this paperwork for this contractor position is done. they want me to start as soon as possible and told them i need to give my current employer at least 2 weeks as a professional courtesy.

the other position would have been November start date, so it wouldn't have been a big difference.

i'll admit it's tough to know if I really am putting "God first" when i decided this. there's any multitude of employment options I could pursue with my life that I would consider infinitely more selfless than taking this job. but that I am hoping that I am able to make the most of the choices/opportunities that God provides me. i am definitely going to stumble along the way though. i appreciate the candor if you do have concerns or criticisms regarding this choice, and don't hesitate to let me know. afterall, i posted here b/c i trust and value this forum community's opinion and voice. i know that God's voice can sometimes come from any source and need to keep my mind open to that fact. it's b/c wasn't sure i knew what i was doing that I have posed the question in the first place.

i also apologize if i have made this conversation too "spiritual" and I know there are differing opinions on that subject, i just wanted to be honest about what factors i wanted to consider in this choice.
