You can also run OSX on a PC. You might run into some driver problems though.

oh one big negative towards the macbook pro, is i don't imagine there is an easy way to upgrade components on it and the omission of an internal optical drive...
one thing i was already planning with the lenovo is to upgrade the ssd drive to something larger, which would likely be a very easy upgrade (open panel, plugin new drive, close panel), where is i don't know if it's even possible in macbook pro and likely voids any warranty i might have on it.

There are two aftermarket companies that make a larger flash drive (486GB I believe) that is Apple authorized. Image, Open, Unplug, Plug, Reimage.

The big issue with SSD drives these days is the reliability. Some are prone to failures.

The thing with notebooks is that there is only one hdd slot... If you're switching to a full ssd drive, then you'd have to get a larger one, like 128GB at least, so you have working space as well as space for the OS. 128GB isn't much these days though.
