pvr or download?

we usually pvr, but i find that since we seldom get a chance to watch everything, the pvr fills up pretty quick. downloading seems to be a bit better in that there are no commercials, less concern about saving space, and you can watch it on whatever device floats your boat.
but yet, we still pvr.

i suck at ff through commercials... plus pvr requires that you have the channel for that show.

the skip button is pretty good at getting past the commercials. but i guess you still have to press that button.

yeah but the skip button is never exact, so i'll always overshoot it a bit and have to rewind a bit, and if you are undershot you have no idea by how much...
even if you d/l had commercials in it for some reason, you can ff much easier on your typical media player.

yeah, the thing i don't like about pvr is that there aren't any chapters. there are times when i accidentally rewind to the beginning for whatever reason, but i have to forward through the entire show to get to where i was. if i could skip by say, 10 minutes at time, that would be nice.

I didn't know pw was an option.
Fine - d/l because it's so much easier to just wait until the season is over and then d/l it all at once.

ZOMG WAIT????
you mean you're not going to stand in line to be the first to watch this show????
lol, i find it hilarious that people actually do that. the movie/show/hot new device is going to be the same next week when you don't have to stand in line for it.

Haha, sometimes I can't wait to watch some shows. Mostly I don't like to wait 1 week at a time to find out what's going to happen next.

i remember when roland and i were watching 24 on dvd, and he was like "i can't imagine having to wait a week to see what happens next... because that "doot... doot... doot... doot..." part is almost too much". lol. good ol' roland.

Speaking of 24... it got so boring that I didn't even end up watching any parts of the last season.

pvr if you have it because once you've set the series recording, everything's done for you. as for the commercials, the 30 second skip is nice and i can't remember if shaw had this but the telus pvr remote has a back 7 second skip. so you over shoot it and you're seconds into the show after the commercials, you can back it up 7 seconds at a time until you've got it to where you want it to be... that's a nice feature. come to think of it, i don't remember shaw having that. but because of that, i don't mind the pvr.
i only d/l if i want to watch a whole series that has been completed or movies that are obviously not on tv yet.

shaw has that back button. i think it goes back 10 seconds though.
there was a time when i skipped ahead like 15 minutes, but i have no idea how i did it.
