granted that darth maul had like one line in the entire movie and died soon after, a lot of people say darth maul was the better villian.
being old school i have to say that vader was the biggest badass of them all (even though anakin was a dork).

what do you think?

vader because he played more of a role in the story... maul was a pretty big loser even though he could do flips and had a light sabre staff

that light saber was so cool in the commercial when i first saw it.

then it broke, and then he died.

Darth Maul because he was more powerful, but then he was a bit of a pawn.

Darth Vader seems like he got weaker after he joined the dark side. Either that, or it's because he lost all those limbs.

weaker in what way? he seemed pretty strong to me, fighting a lightsaber duel with just one hand.

Well, for one, he lost to his barely trained son who also only had one good hand. And he didn't lose because of Luke's supposed force powers.

? he didn't lose. did you even watch the movie? he was luring luke to the darkside (which clearly is the more powerful side) and fuelling his anger but then it was the emperor that kicked vader's butt.

Oh yeah, that's true.. I forgot. I watched it when I was a kid, and I just remember Luke fighting Vader, and then Vader is dead at the end of it.

luke did cut vader's hand off, but that's after being smacked around for a loooooong time first.

vader... from my experience from reading a lot of the star wars books, vader is one of the most powerful users of the force that existed.

supposedly, he was almost capable of healing himself completely by use of the dark side of the force. (what he does in that black bubble room that he sits in). the only problem is that he always contained some semblance of "goodness" in him that he could not let go.

maul may have been the better saber skills (he actually doesn't do anything overly impressive with the force), but vader is the "prophesied" one, and the one that ultimately restores the balance.

also darth maul was killed by obi-wan who was killed by vader.

i thought he had one hand and one leg left. but either case, the hand that was cut off had a bunch of wires sticking out of it anyway.

i remember reading somewhere that vader could use mind control from a different room, now that's pretty powerful. but the emperor was the only one that could transfer his consciousness to another body.

yea, the emperor is another one of the most powerful force users too...
in one of the movies vader was "force" choking someone through a display screen.

luke is actually pretty lame in comparison to both of them. he could barely lift an xwing 5 feet out of a swamp.. come on man...

he started training too late, that's what his problem was.

from what i remember, after return of the jedi luke becomes pretty powerful, to the point that he brings himself out of the dark side.
