naked gun wasn't a parody, and hot shots was semi. so if you're saying which is the best parody i'd have to say spaceballs since it's really only competing against itself lol.

having said that, hot shots and naked gun had sequels giving it quite a few more lulz over the entire series. i wasn't really a fan of the police academy series although they had their moments, but airplane was freaking hilarious.

hotshots was a parody of top gun wasn't it? just like how charlie sheen held onto his father's eyeballs instead of dogtags like tom cruise did in top gun? and naked gun was a parody of spy movies like james bond and other stuff wasnt' it?

i said hot shots was semi because they didn't choose one movie to parody. they had lots (like top gun, rambo, that platoon movie, etc), while spaceballs was obviously only about star wars.

naked gun was its own movie. slapstick comedy, but no parody. you might be thinking about spy hard (which also wasn't really a parody but did poke fun a little at james bond).

and yeah, police academy wasn't either. airplane was a little when captain kirk showed up. hilarious.

Oh, and there was Repossessed... that was hilarious. That was a parody of Exorcist, and that's the movie where we got "bless this house" on the toilet from.
