evite: invite one person in a family or whole family?

since evite has that option of listing how many guests you bring, if you just invite one person in the family you're essentially inviting them all. but that sucks for the people who know nothing of the event.
case in point: this saturday is gianna's birthday party, my brother told me about it weeks ago because he wanted to see if i would be free on my actual birthday, but i never heard anything after that. earlier this week i was like, hey, isn't that party this week? and i told winnie that my brother didn't send out any details. and she was like, he sent out an evite a couple weeks ago, weren't you on the list?
i wasn't offended, but it just seems like the evite is also a way of communicating what's going on, rather than just a strict guest-tallying service.
anyway, my question is, would you just include one person in the family in an evite or everyone?

i would evite everyone if i knew they checked their emails because i assume that the people in that family would discuss who replies. I have a rule with alicia where she replies on our behalf for things like that unless i'm the only one who got the evite. I usually check with her to see if she got it because some people are still sending crap to her old shaw email address so she doesn't always get emails.
that being said, there are times where i would send an evite to only one member of the targeted family. scenarios like the jungs because we all know dave never checks his emails unless they're hockey related lol. So evites to the jungs get sent usually to corris only. haha

i actually never even made up an evite before in my life haha.
but i would think that it'd just be common courtesy to just put everyone that has email on the evite that you want there.

that's more or less the idea... but sometimes you also run into the problem where more than one person from the target family responds with the total number of attendees and you get a double count of that family...

that's why you read who's responding. it's not a perfect system, on one hand you should have everyone that you want there on the evite list, on the other hand there are those without (or don't check) email.

there should be an ability on the evite to group families into one email... where multiple email addresses constitute only one invitation to the event. that way, there can only be one response on behalf of the family. Now there's an idea! i should pitch it to evite

actually, with facebook you'd only see a half of the conversation unless you had both of them as friends. that's why they changed it to have the convo on one wall instead of alternating walls.

I heard that lots of their employees who were given stock options are now millionaires after Facebook's IPO.

the winklevoss bros were paid off in shares during their settlement and apparently have $150mil in shares now each...
and i heard on the radio, some graffiti artist was paid in shares when the company started out because they wanted him to paint some crazy mural on or in their building. His shares are worth like $200mil now... wtffffffffffffff
