Nexus Pass or not?

So we're in the middle of the Nexus pass application process. From the online initial application date to when we were conditionally approved and told to set an in person interview, it took like 6-7 weeks. When we went online to book an interview, the earliest date we could find was August 11th!. Wowza... anyways, i imagine after the interview and if/when we're finally approved for the pass, we'll probably get it after another couple weeks in the mail. So it'll probably be the end of August before we get the physical passes in our hands... all in all a 3-4 month process?
I think having the pass is worth it even with the long wait period in the application process... $50 for 5 years? $10/yr to laugh and point at people lining up at the boarder? It's totally worth it especially if you have kids so you don't have to wait in the car for so long. Even crossing the boarder once a year is enough to make it worthwhile imo.
what do you guys think?

i've been contemplating getting a nexus pass for like ever. but i don't think it's whether or not i want it or not, but it's when i can get off my lazy ass and actually do it. now that we finally got wesley's passport, we can start the process.
and with a family of 4, it's actually $40 a year to laugh.

With Nexus pass, you have to claim everything you purchase right? No more taking a chance and going through the border without having to pay customs/taxes.
Plus, if you have a Nexus pass, you can't go through the border with someone in your car who doesn't have a Nexus pass. Everyone you travel with must have one in order for you to go through the Nexus line. This might not be a huge problem for you guys though, I guess.

I'm confused. Didn't you always have to claim everything?

If you get caught "cheating", your nexus pass is revoked. If you're caught without the nexus, you get a slap on the wrist.
Funny thing, winnie just went and started the application process without us even talking about it. For sure she doesn't know about this thread though.
Oh, and it's free for anyone under 18, not 16. Even better.
