don't you have an asus transformer already? and don't you hate it?
from that alone i'd think i'd go for google nexus. also because i hear good things about it.
you wouldn't want to go with the surface?

alicia's mom bought the first gen transformer.. and yea, it sucks haha... but the infinity is a much better upgrade from the first gen.
i'm a little hesitant with the surface because it's so new and it's microsoft. Like we said in the other threads, it's never a good idea to buy the first iteration of any microsoft product. I've played with it at the mall and it does looks pretty cool. And it's pretty expensive with the keyb dock.

Even if the new Transformer pad is an upgrade from the first gen, it's still a tablet. It's still going to lag on webpages with too much graphics. It still doesn't have Flash (actually it did before, but Google took it off their new Jellybean Android platform). It still doesn't have a keyboard.
The Surface has a keyboard, but it's one of those lame keyboards with rubber keys that give no tactile feedback. I hate those keyboards.

i think like all the other threads about what to buy, to get any sort of answer you need to state what you're going to use it for.
surfing/games/work/movies/porn/porn/porn/porn/etc
having said that, i still hear lots of good things about the nexus. i haven't heard anything good about the transformer until you just posted a good thing about it (which actually wasn't that good).

lol.. the transformer is supposedly the fastest android tablet out there.. but fast like we all said in the other threads is hard to quantify because of the differing platforms and environments.
and i'm buying a tablet for quick surfing, some games, and a bit of media. oh, and pr0n... can't forget that... if i were to use it for work, i'd get the surface. if i were to use it purely for gaming, i'd get the ipad because of the crazy amount of apps. but i want something that allows me to do a bit of everything minus work.

The Transformer first gen was the "fastest" tablet in its day.. That didn't stop you from thinking it was slow.
If it were me picking, I'd go with the Nexus because there's no bloatware. If you're going to root it anyway, I'd still go Nexus because it's a better quality build. Asus makes good components, but their retail stuff lacks in quality.

The nexus 10 may come with an ant inside. The samsung ATIV wasn't bad when i played with it. There are 2 keyboards available for the Surface, but both aren't very good.

isn't the only good thing about the surface keyboard the fact that you can dock the tablet on it?
i imagine if you got a stand, you could just pair any keyboard with it.

actually, I spent a few minutes at the mall yesterday just typing in an ad flyer I found near the surface kiosk.. the keyboard is very comfortable to use IMO. Not that much different to the chiclet keyboard on a macbook. My biggest problem with the Surface is using it in portrait mode. 16:9 portrait just feels weird.

i think using portrait anything feels weird. maybe that's another reason why i like blackberries, they're usually in landscape.
i can't stand the ipad games in portrait, if for nothing else that there's no way to stand it up to put on a desk and play. why design something that's "supposed" to be in portrait (position of home button and icons) when all cases have it in landscape?

Web pages are better in portrait mode.. Landscape web browsing sucks, especially when half the screen is blocked by the on screen keyboard.
