Stay in tiny shack in Bby or Move to Coq for more space?

I know i've hashed this out on here a few times already but it's just getting discouraging. To think that i can get something like in coquitlam for that price, it boggles my mind. Our house hunt is almost coming around to a year long and still nothing really worth considering in bby. Some close calls, but man, it sucks to live here with the housing prices where they're at.

Spring is around the corner and there'll be new listings but should i bite the bullet and move to coq if nothing pops up in bby this year? Maybe we'll move to coq for a few years and then move back to bby when we have more income. Thoughts?

A friend just sold his house in richmond for $660,000 on Francis. It was about 2600 sq feet.

Seriously though... wouldn't a townhouse in East Richmond / New West make more sense in terms of proximity to the Lui's for childcare?

hey, that place is right down the street from my internship church. that area isn't bad, and taking the back roads over to st. john's is pretty easy and relatively light on traffic.

i personally wouldn't want to live so far out, and i also personally wouldn't want to go through the trouble of moving with the plan to move back in a couple years.

however, if you're ok with the commute and traffic and the probability that you WON'T be moving back in a couple years (because let's be honest, you likely won't after all the trouble/cost it is to move the first time), then i don't see any reason not to move.

i wasn't thinking of moving back in a couple years, that'd be way too short of a period to make it worth moving out there. i was thinking of moving out there for 5-10 years tops, probably when hayden gets old enough for highschool.

and yea, i honestly don't mind that area. It's pretty nice there but it's so damn far. We'd be 5 minutes from Tyson's new place though lol

for those of us who grew up in vancouver, anything over a 20 min drive we feel far, but those in the states or from other countries think that's nothing. A buddy commutes from tsawwassen to richmond and says it's not far at all, a customer commutes from tsawwassen to coq everyday, so it depends what ur used to i guess.

talk to those who grew up in the prairies. anything over 10 minutes is far. travelling an hour was a trip, but you'd make it because that's where the closest mcdonald's is lol.

Coq does have some nice big houses, but the commute to poker is just too far, especially when it's 2am.
