Being a math geek, I actually did know this, but it was just one of those things that never come up in conversation. Just for your info Shaun, the Chinese still follow the original greek Myriad system so I LOL'd when he brought it up as a matter of fact at the end.

I seem to recall being confused the first time we were introduced to numbers larger than a million. Now that I think about it, I think my original teacher may have taught us the long system, and thereafter we were taught the short system.

Also, I never knew that Quebecers used a different system.
