Hmm... well, it's partially pre-cooked, so I guess maybe you can call it instant rice.... not sure what you mean by "instant" though. Even regular rice, all you have to do is boil it. It's easier to make than instant noodles.

It still takes 20 minutes to cook Uncle Ben's rice. I'm not talking about the instant stuff; not sure if I've ever had that.
