man alive that's a lot of tweets to go through. i didn't want to keep scrolling to find the beginning. what happened?

The passengeres got free booze.
I thought it might have been interesting if the plane crashed. Oh well.

Reminded me of a flight from hell I had trying to leave Phoenix.
I should have known it was going to be a bad day while waiting in the airport and hearing about how the flight to Tuscan was delayed 'cause they couldn't find the pilot.
They overbooked my flight. They forgot that they couldn't fly with a full passenger count due to the distance. They made us wait for... umm... must've been over half an hour until someone volunteered to stay behind. I would have if they offered some decent compensation, but a one night's stay at a hotel? Gimme a break. Apparently others felt the same way.
There was a problem with the plane's backup power and they made us sit on the tarmac until they fixed it.
They couldn't fix it so they made us all deplane and wait for another plane to become available. An hour or two later they told us a plane could not be found and that we needed to rebook a flight for another day. Did I mention it was the beginning of Spring Break?
Waited in line forever to rebook a flight. All the flights were booked. I get to the front of the line... Oh, it's a miracle! A seat just became available for the following day! Got my itinerary.
While I waited for my ride to pick me up, I rechecked my itinerary. I was too frustrated to make sense of what I was seeing. It looked like they were flying me to Seattle.
Went back to the clerk to get things sorted out. Why would I want to fly to Seattle? What exactly would that solve?
Clerk cancelled the seat then asked to see my ID. Then asked me how come I have the wrong itinerary. Turned out the first clerk gave me somebody else's itinerary and this second clerk just cancelled their seat. Waited and waited and waited for her to fix the screw up.
She then proceeded to address my actual problem of how I was going to leave Phoenix. Oh, it's a miracle! A seat just became available for the SAME day (which was now evening). Sound familiar? *sigh*

Needless to say I was happy to actually arrive in Vancouver and not Toronto.

that's an insane story man. can't say i can top it. i do remember once landing in edmonton and everyone was ready to get off, and the captain was like, oops, i overshot the bay, and we all had to get back into our seats, PUT OUR SEATBELTS ON, and wait as the captain backed us up about a half a foot. literally. about a half a foot.

anyway, i still don't know why the flight attendants walked off the plane.

i read an article saying that there was just a dirty laundry smell coming from the vents. i don't think that's life-threatening, but i guess it's uncomfortable. it could be just a guy with smelly socks or something.

I don't think it was so much that the smell was so bad, but that they were concerned that they didn't really know what was causing it. At least that's the impression that I got.

i guess so, but if the captain is staying on, i'd think everything would be fine. but then, i guess even captains could be wrong.

never heard of smelly socks crashing a plane though.
