on saturday i post on facebook "i think i was more popular when i had a birthday everyday" and it got some decent response in the way of likes and such. so i thought saturday night i'd change my bday to june 3rd (sunday) to see what happens. got the typical happy birthdays on my wall but also a lot of suspicious people who remember last year's 2 month birthday run.
anyway, a member the congregation said something like "i hope your day is full of surprises". he's sort of a joker (on april fool's day he set every single clock in the house ahead an hour, and they showed up to church an hour early haha), so i wondered if he was up to something. service was about to start and he walked in without his family. i asked if it was just him, and he said no, they're all coming. he had a weird smile on his face. then his two daughters came in all jumpy and giddy. they're usually pretty happy, but they seemed even more so then. i figured something was up, i just didn't know what.
then came time in the service for my children's story. i asked them to come up and they did, bringing balloons, party hats and a little cupcake with a candle in it and sang happy birthday. half the congregation got it, but a lot of the seniors were like wtf. i had to explain that it wasn't my birthday and that it was a facebook joke gone to the max level extreme wax a chump like a candle.
i could barely get through my story after that haha. their parents were cracking up.
