I hate mail-in rebates. I dunno why companies still use such an archaic marketing scheme.. AND they still do it through snail mail. Maybe it's a way to keep the postal system alive. /rant

And then they don't even bother sending you the rebate.
I'm done with them. I have been for a while now.

Yeah, doesn't seem worth it for $5 or $10

mail in rebates are a ploy to make you think you're saving money but i think 50% or more of the consumers who buy a product with a MIR will eventually forget about it or be too lazy to send in the form so they never save anyways.
It's done via snail mail for that reason, it's a hassle so people don't bother, but they still buy the product because they're like OUuUuU $5 off from the MIR!!

I've always mailed in, and I've always received a cheque back in the mail. C'mon, would you really give up on $10 for 30 seconds of work? I actually have nothing against MIR. It's a great marketing engine. If you're too lazy to go get it, then it's not their fault.

it's probably because someone in the mailroom noticed that it was a mail in rebate with all your personal info on it, stole it before it got to the proper place for filing, and is now outside your window watching you waiting to steal your identity.
