I think they must've changed it... I remember it was 30 too. I got an excessive speeding ticket for going 80 in a 50 zone.

it's been 40 for as long as i've had my license. ask me how i know.

the point of giving out tickets believe it or not isn't to create revenue, but it's to keep our roads "safer" (i put that in brackets because speeders slamming on their brakes when they see a cop isn't exactly safe) and getting people to slow down. so if a cop standing out in plan view has people slow down, then their job is done.

most cops i see don't do a very good job in hiding behind poles. they're just leaning on them. if they wanted to really hide i'm sure they could devise something better than leaning on a pole. hide in a bush, in camouflage, even behind a car and shoot the radar through its widows would be better than leaning on a pole.
