So i'm in Dubai now. It's like Vegas on steriods minus the gambling. There's drinking allowed in the clubs, and the clubs are over the top, so i hear.
It's freaking 40 degrees outside, u can feel the heat melting you. Clusters of mega buildings, new cities within the city being developed. The Burg Al something something, tallest building in the world strains your neck trying to look up at it. The mall beside it is 1million sq meters. U think with a mall that size, that's all you need for a city, but no, there's like 5-6 more, not as big, but all bigger than metro. Makes metrotown feel like oakridge. There's an olympic size ice rink in it. Saw a bunch of Canadian hockey bags and gear, so i guess there's a few Canadians that play there. A massive aquarium with a walk through tunnel as well.
The palm shaped island development, there's actually 2 of them. The one i went through was the smaller one, 11.5km long. It alone has 30 5 star hotels along it. They are building another artificial island that's going to be twice the size of HK. These , i mean , i mean arabs have too much money. There must be at least 2 dozen 40+ stories high rises still in the process. And they don't like like the cookie cutter ones in China. They are all very unique and looking $$$$$.
It's either very smoggy here, or the sand makes it look that way, cuz even so the tallest building is 3kms away from where i'm staying, you can hardly see it.
Some sheik has a road named after him, it's 175kms long.
They have a race track here that you can rent Austin Martin GT4s, or F3000, or the open cart Audi for 300 bux. Gotta see if they have room, cuz it seems like everything is booked!!
