yeah, it was hard to look him in the eye and tell him it was a scam. he teared a little but took it quite well considering.

Perhaps it might be a good idea to do a little research and find someone trained in helping others with depression, etc. before your next meeting. That way you could be prepared to offer him that suggestion in the event the situation seems appropriate and if he's willing.

Wow... I can't even imagine... 4 years.

It's really hard fight the anger and hostility that naturally wells up in me towards the ones that preyed on him.

I pray that he continues to reach out to you for help in recovering from this betrayal of trust.
