New Mobile

So I've been waiting for what seems like FOREVER for them to release the Palm Pre unlocked over in Europe. But I don't know if my current phone can hang on much longer. That and the fact that an unlocked Pre would cost me around $700, where as I have enough Fido Dollars to get an iPhone 3Gs for free. Obviously, with a kid coming, cashflow will be cut down so should I just settle for an iPhone? Or should I follow through with a Pre? I've waited this long already... Don't need a berry cuz my work provided one works just fine, so that's not even on the radar.

I remember you were pretty agains getting the iPhone.. it was too big, or something along those lines. And also with the non-tactile keyboard, right?
I know you like to keep your phones for a long time, so I'd hate to see you get something you're not totally satisfied with.

Since you have an ipod Touch, you're probably already pretty familiar with the functionality, so I'm guessing the size is the main issue. Maybe you can try pocketing the Touch for a while, and see how it feels.

One thing I don't like about the iPhone is where the mic is located. It's on the bottom of the phone and since the iphone is pretty long, the mic extends past my chin and it faces downwards, so the mic directionality is not ideal.

i've heard that quite a few people are a little disappointed with the pre. I suppose it's a HUGE step in the right direction, but i'm not sure palm has it just right yet.

I really really did not want to like the iphone, but it's been really good so far. My only complaint is with battery life...
I'd be interested in seeing the new android offerings in the new year. I think HTC's roadmap was leaked today...
