Outsourcing.... Genius or a moron???

I read a book recently that's set in the future. The story mentions that jobs are in such short supply and high demand, that people were outsourcing one job, then the outsource person outsources it again until there are like 4 or 5 levels of outsourcing. I thought it was pretty interesting.
