i wonder if it's a chinese thing... people who look at me like i'm crazy are usually not chinese. Chinese tellers usually know what you're doing... or maybe it's just that chinese are good enough at math to know what you're trying to do

Is it just me? or have ALL the 'cash only' chinese restaurants loaded up on pennies so that they don't have to "round down" for as long a possible.

I would just customize all my menus and calculate tax for all the prices and pre-round up all the prices so that every price will end up in a 5 or 0 after tax.

i don't think they will ever, stop going cash only... saving on pennies is nothing compared to how much they save taxes.

it will probably just be instead of them sometimes rounding up and sometimes rounding down, it will be always rounding down for change.
