hergy is retiring

i'm not sure if you guys heard about this or not, but hergy is retiring after 30+ years as a pastor, and almost 20 years at First. he's done a lot for the folks at new life, from baptisms to weddings to just being there to preach on sundays.

anyway, i thought you might want to know (if you don't already) that he's having a roast in his honour at First on june 21 at 7pm, and his last service will be the following sunday, june 23 at 10:30 followed by a potluck lunch.

i'm not doing the roasting, but former national bishop ray shultz is on the list. not sure who else.

i'm pretty sure you're all invited, as there will probably be so many people that no one would notice if you aren't anyway.
