Finally get to unlock your phones. Another interesting note, you can cancel your plan and return the phone to the cell provider with no penalty.

i wonder if fido's prices are going to increase because of this. which reminds me, i still want to change my plan.

Of course they will. They're just hungry looking for excuses to raise rates. Gas prices, cellphone plans, etc.

Apparently ICBC wants to start installing black boxes in your cars to monitor your driving habits. They're saying that they'll reduce your insurance costs if you agree to have them installed. Initially, perhaps, but big picture... your insurance will cost the same if you're a safe driver and will sky-rocket if you aren't or of you opt-out of their spying. Count on it.

i thought the cell phone rates were dropping on a pretty consistent basis. when i first got a phone in the 90's, i was paying close to $60 a month just for myself. now i pay around $40 a month for way more stuff.
heck, i was paying around $40 for the past few years that started as being on a retention program but now i pay the same on a regular advertised plan and i still get more.

I haven't read the link but as I understand the way they're reporting it on the news, you can cancel after 2 years.
