flight deal hookups?

i'm considering a short asia trip with a high school buddy of mine in april. so far we're thinking of making stops in hong kong, china and japan, though in what order who knows.

i'm kinda out of touch with finding flight deals and things. what's the current hotness these days?

People also keep on telling me about this Asia pass that you can get that allows you to travel to multiple asian destinations for cheap, but every time I look it stop being available years ago. Maybe you'll have better luck finding it.

I find that booking flights directly through the airlines website usually the cheapest way unless you get lucky deal from a travel agent.

Cathay has an explore asia package. Anywhere it flies in Asia for 1600 i think, and u can travel to as many of those destinations as you want in 2 weeks.

yeah, i think when winnie and i were in hk a couple years ago everyone was telling us to get that deal from cathay. whether or not it's still available is a different story.

this last time around my mother-in-law also found a deal (i think with cathay as well) to fly to hk with a layover in japan including 2 nights hotel or something like that. we were thinking about doing that but we didn't want to travel so much with ryan.

and like keian said, book directly yourself. the only reason to go with a travel agent is if you're too busy to do it yourself or too dumb to know how. they don't seem to save you any money (at least for me they never worked).
