I see it as natural human behaviour to jump on one bandwagon and criticizing all others. One of the basic human needs is a sense of belonging or community. Some people have chosen their material possessions as their form of community, and they'll protect it any chance they get. The reason why Apple fanbois nonsensically bash BB is probably because they feel threatened.

Personally, I think that if you see fit to spend your time debating so much over inanimate objects that SERVES DIFFERENT PURPOSES FOR DIFFERENT PEOPLE then you should probably step back and re-evaluate your life priorities. People buy the device that suits their needs and lifestyle the best, who am I to tell you that your opinion is wrong? As the saying goes, opinions are like ********. Whether you decide to buy a coupon to bleach and wax it or not is up to you mang. Just assuming that mine needs bleaching too would be silly.

Actually, something that bugs me way more than product bashing is sports fanaticism. Some people take sports way too seriously. This Apple vs BB thing is nothing compared to the fan rivalry that goes on in sports.

either case, my point is exactly as gordon mentioned, i found apple fanbois always jumping on the hater bandwagon and saying "bb sucks" without knowing much about anything. the article about the DoD i posted? of course they'll jump on that saying apple rules and blackberry sucks, but when it's found to be a false rumour, then everyone is silent.

like last week or whatever when bb announced that some unnamed partner ordered a million units, people all over imore were saying that it was just a lie and a rouse for blackberry to up their stock. yeah ok, that makes sense.

i don't find blackberry fanbois doing stuff like that, imho. a browse around crackberry shows that.
i'm not saying all apple fans are like this, but i find it much more prominent in the apple fanbase than in the blackberry (or android and windows) fanbase. yes, i spend a lot of time in the mobile nations.

granted, it's probably easier to see it in the apple fanbase simply because there are more fans.

I agree 100%. Being someone who's attended sporting events and had a great time with friendly rival jeering and bantering, and also having experienced mob mentality, belligerent, fanaticism, I've seen it progressively shift over to the latter during the last decade or so. It really all does come back to the the anonymity of the internet. People have become brazen keyboard warriors with less and less regard for something as simple as respect for others and even less regard for consequences. Sadly, this mentality has rather quickly expanded past the keyboard now and has clearly bled into everyday life.

initial reports say that BBRY (or whatever) stock is up. however, it shouldn't be from how i understand these things to work.
